a question for hurley

ok this is a question for you hurley , it is about tube feeding. I was wondering if your using a calcium supplement with your ferret food because the ferret food i bought doesnt seem to have any calcium.I put the tiniest bit of calcium powder i have for my lizard in the mix. Since their main food is mice, which have calcium in their bone structure, wouldnt the babies have problems developing if this calcium is not supplemented? I know pinkies wouldnt have much calcium due to their soft bones but when they move onto hoppers and their bones develop they would be a source of calcium yes? I'm not questioning your knowledge as its far greater than mine but its just a thought , i know its a new project for you and was wondering if there is gonna be any health issues down the line?

The ferret diet I use currently is 8in1's Ultra blend ferret diet, which is nutritionally complete for ferrets (strict carnivores, like snakes). If the ferret diet you using is complete, there has to be a calcium source in there somewhere. If not, I'd be worried about that diet and look for a better one.

Specs of this brand of food below:

Ingredients:
Chicken Meal, Ground Yellow Corn, Brewers Rice, Corn Gluten Meal, Animal Fat (Preserved with Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Citric Acid), Corn Oil, Dried Eggs, Cane Molasses, Beet Pulp, Natural Raisin Juice, Brewers Dried Yeast, Natural Flavors, Salt, Taurine, DL-Methionine, Choline Chloride, Vitamin A Acetate, D-Activated Animal Sterol (Source of Vitamin D3), Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate Complex (Source of vitamin K activity), Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Zinc Proteinate, Calcium Carbonate, Iron Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Ethylenediamine Dihydriodide, Potassium Chloride, Cobalt Carbonate.

Guaranteed Analysis:
Protein (min) 35%
Fat (min) 15%
Fiber (max) 3%
Moisture (max) 10%

If you prefer a grain-free diet (though our snakes eat critters that generally have grain in their digestive tracts such as birds and mice), EVO has a nice ferret diet as well.
